The quarter

Aprile is situated in Turin's historical centre - the Quadrilatero Romano- the heart of ancient Turin defined by the roman wall.

Here is found the Basilica della Consolata, the cathedral which houses the sacred shroud - the Duomo- and all the important museums. Piazza Castello and Palazzo Reale are a stone's throw away. Forget your car- you're in the centre!
Take a stroll around the incredible market of Porta Palazzo- the largest in Europe -, and, if it's a Saturday, browse the antiques and bric -a brac stalls of the Balun, the antiques fair where you can find everything.

This is also the most fashionable area of the city: in its streets, many of which are for pedestrians only, old craftsman's workshops live alongside artist's and fashion designer's studios, design consultancies, historic cafès and cutting - edge bars for an aperitif.
It is not by chance that many films have been shot in these streets.

Later the night life starts: traditional and modern restaurants await, many different bars to while away the small hours, little shows and open air concerts and many new and different cultural initiatives.
